Our link tracker feature allows you to create links that can be tracked for views. It also gives you the option to tag numbers that view your links. Here are some useful guides:
- Click on the Reports tab:
- On the Reports screen, click on Link Tracker:
- Click on the plus icon ():
- On the menu, click on "Settings":
- You'll need to set up a CNAME through your hosting provider that will create your customized links when sending messages.
- Head over to your domain provider and look for the CNAME options.
- For example, if your domain was yourdomain.com, you would create a CNAME such as sms.yourdomain.com and point it to your client URL.
- Copy and paste sms.yourdomain.com into the "Shortener" field.
- Click "Add."
- You will then see your shortener added under "Created Shorteners":
- You can test your CNAME to verify that is pointing correctly by clicking "Test":
- If the CNAME is pointing correctly, you will see a CNAME status at the bottom of the pop-up window. If the CNAME is not pointing correctly, you will also see a CNAME status notifying you that is not.
- Delete your shortener by clicking the trash icon ():
- Optional: You can set up additional shorteners as needed by following the same steps.
Once you set up your shortener you are ready to create a link to send out.
- Click on the plus icon ():
- On the menu, click on "Add New URL":
- On the pop-up window, you will see the following options to add a new URL:
- Name: The name you would like to give this URL.
- Redirect URL: The URL where users will be redirected to.
- Shortener: The shortener that you would like to use for your URL.
- Tags: Select the tags that you would like to use with your URL. When mobile number users view your link, they will be tagged with the tags you've selected.
- Click "Save" when done:
- Once you've created your link, copy the link to your clipboard by clicking the "Copy" button from the Link Tracker screen.
- You can then send a text alert or inbox message and paste the link into the message:
The link tracker screen will show you how many times your link has been clicked under the "Total Views" and "Unique Views" columns.
- Total Views: The total number of URL views by all users more than once. Please note that there's approximately a 30-minute window for each session. A session is reset based on inactivity. If you click on the link multiple times within a session, it will only be counted once.
- Unique Views: The number of distinct mobile number users who have viewed the URL.
If you added a tag to your link, you can view the phone numbers that have been tagged by going to the Contacts screen, and selecting the tag added your link.
